What to Do Before Junk Removal

A little preparation makes junk removal in Cape Town faster, safer, and easier to quote accurately. Use this checklist before Fast Junk Removal arrives.

1. Decide what is going—and what stays

Walk through the space and mark items for removal. Keep a “stay” zone so nothing valuable gets loaded by mistake. If you are clearing a garage or office, check drawers and filing cabinets for documents or keys you still need.

2. Take clear photos for your quote

Photos are the fastest way to get a fair price. Capture the full pile, then closer shots of bulky or heavy pieces. Mention your suburb—Claremont, Observatory, Bellville, or wherever you are—so we can plan the route. WhatsApp 068 665 1367 or use the contact page.

3. Sort hazardous or restricted items aside

Do not mix chemicals, asbestos, medical waste, or other restricted materials into the general junk pile. Ask us if you are unsure—an early question avoids delays on collection day. Ordinary household junk, furniture, garden refuse, and many renovation leftovers are fine for standard removal services.

4. Improve access for loading

Clear a path from the junk to the street or driveway. Move cars that block the bakkie. Unlock side gates and warn neighbours if we will need brief access to a shared driveway. Stairwells and tight flats take longer—tell us in advance so we schedule enough time.

5. Group items near the exit

If you can, gather smaller items into one area. Stack lighter boxes together and leave heavy furniture where it is safest. You do not have to carry everything outside—we handle the loading—but grouping saves time and can keep labour costs predictable.

6. Confirm timing and someone on site

Be available by phone around the arrival window. If you need same-day junk removal, message early and keep the pile ready. For garden-only jobs, see our garden refuse removal guide.
